Merry Christmas Card

Today I am sharing a card that I decorated with a beautiful frame. I used Spellbinders S6-151 - Holly Jolly Christmas from last year Charming Christmas collection.

I handmade poinsettias using white card stock, Distress ink and Spellbinders S4-960 - Cinch and Go Poinsettias.

The sentiment 'Merry Christmas' comes from this die set. I die cut it 4 times with 300g card stock, glue all together to make it more strudy.

Introducing Candlewick Classics | GIVEAWAY

Hi Friends, last month we introduced Candlewick Sampler and this month we are introducing a small companion collection that drives home that sweet Candlewick look. We introduce these so that there is a central place you can see them and how they are used; we hope you will welcome Candlewick Classics. If you loved Hemstitch Classics like Hemstitch Rectangles then you'll love the individual new dies options in the 6 die collection. These are basics you'll definitely want to evaluate for your stash.

A Bit About Candlewick Classics

Nowhere does the candlewick look and feel come through more than on the Candlewick Classics. It's a delicate look reminiscent of actual candlewicking and punctuated by the rounded motifs that imply french knots. Candlewick Classics are classic square, circle, oval and rectangle label shapes that are bordered with the candlewick motif in the most useful card making sizes. They also mix and match with the Hemstitch Classics.

What is Candlewicking? Browse the google images found when searching "Candliewicking" and you will see that it is a type of whitework embroidery normally done on cream or white fabric embellished with cream or white french knots. The series of french knots create the outlines of the pattern giving it a unique look while adding a touch of elegance. In these dies, you can see rounded motifs that hint at the texture of dots. Without overpowering, it's a sweet little detail present on all the dies in the collection. Plus, it just happens to be the perfect spot to place a pearl. Google candlewicking and you'll see exactly what we mean.

My Projects For Today
I'm introducing S4-1034 Candlewick Squares
I really like the elegant squares of this new collection. I can see myself using it for many different projects.

Here is what the plate actually looks like.

For my first card I used the smallest square die from this set to create the main focal. I die cut it four times to create a patchwork effect. I added my handmade flowers around the card to create a wreath. I used Spellbinders S4-867 - Cinch and Go Flowers III and Spellbinders S4-982 - Cinch and Go Flowers VI as well as flowers from Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month sets. The sentiment comes from Spellbinders SDS-054 - Giving Occasion Stamp and Die set.

My second card I decorated with the largest square die. I matted it with silver mirrored card stock (I did the same for my patchwork card). On both cards I adhered squares to my card base on 3D tape for dimension.

For this card I used flowers from a new collections. I used Spellbinders S4-1015 - Candlewick Rosebud. I also used swirls from this set. I added a flat pearl on each of the little pearl shapes along the swirls.
