Filigree basket Tutorial

Today I would like to show how I made a filigree basket using March Die of the Month. I shoed the card and the basket in this post - click.

I die cut the oval with two decorative inserts and I also die cut twice the label.

I have my scoring board marked with a pencil along the 6''. The pencil like helps me to align the element for scorning. I aligned at 6'' mark the die cut element and then move forward by 1/8'' and scored. I aligned with the inside of the decorative inlaid die cut.

Here you can see a pencil mark. I have done it along the full length of scoring board.

I have done the same on each side. I have now the base scored at equal distance (1/8'') from the inlaid decorative die cut. 

Then I trimmed off with scissors the sides (at four corners) to create flaps.

Here how it looks when flaps are folded up and glued together.

You may have noticed, it's a big die but the better to make alternative designs like the little baskets that help to create an ensemble.

My Card Today:

I created a birthday card with a beautiful lacy details. I die cut card base using the oval die and I followed this tutorial by Becca click.

I decorated my card with handmade flowers using Spellbinders S4-867 - Cinch and Go Flowers III, Spellbinders S4-982 - Cinch and Go Flowers IV and APG February Die of The Month.
The sentiment comes from Spellbinders SDS-054 - Giving Occasions Stamp Die set.

My second project:

I created a basket using an oval base. I laid in the rectangle panels only then I scored along the pre scored lines and folded up creating a basket. The handle are two labels (the center piece) that are meeting at the top.

Filigree Christmas Basket and Tutorial

I am sharing another filigree Christmas basket. I created it using decorative toppers from Spellbinders S4-963 - Snowflake Toppers.

Dzisiaj chciałabym pokazać jeszcze jeden koszyczek. Tym razem srebrny. Do jego zrobienia użyłam ozdobne bordery z zestawu Spellbinders S4-963 - Snowflake Toppers.

On the sides I added Swirl Accent from Spellbinders S5-365 - Sweetheart Swirl.

Na boli dodałam ozdobne akcenty z zestawu Spellbinders S5-365 - Sweetheart Swirl.

I made handle using NOEL Inner Pattern from Spellbinders S4-947 - Christmas Words.

Rączkę zrobiłam z wykrojnika NOEL z zestawu Spellbinders S4-947 - Christmas Words.

I also added a poinsettia from Spellbinders S4-960 - Cinch and Go Poinsettias.

Rączkę ozdobiłam poisencją z zestawu Spellbinders S4-960 - Cinch and Go Poinsettias.

I took some pictures to show how I created a filigree basket.

Zrobiłam kilka zdjęć jak powstał koszyczek.

1. two 3-3/4in circles (dwa koła o średnicy 3-3/4incza)
2. two toppers which I die cut without the bottom die so I could trim the edge at 5/16in (dwa bordery, które wycięłam bez dolnego wykrojnika i odcięłam na wysokości 5/16incza)
3. approx. 12in by 3/4in strip of card stock, scored at 1/4in and cut on the 1/3in side so that it can bend easly (pasek dł. ok 12 na 3/4 incza, zbigowany na 1/4in i pocięty w paseczki na szerszej stronie)
4. a strip for handle, long enough to adjust it, it is approx. 3/4in wide (pasek na rączkę wystarczająco długi aby można dopasować go do koszyczka, szeroki jest na ok 3/4incza)

Here are toppers with the bottom 5/16 in wide.

Dwa bordery z ociętym dołem na wysokości 5/16 incza.

I used a strip to attach the cut part to the first circle going around the edge of the circle.

Pasek z pociętym brzegiem przykleiłam dookoła pierwszego kółeczka.

Then I added first topper to the 1/4in side (the bottom of the toper is slightly wider - 5/16in).

Następnie dodałam pierwszy border, którego dół jest ciutkę szerszy.

Then I added the second circle inside to cover the workings (strip).

Następnie dodałam drugie kółko aby zakryć łączenie.

Then I added handle. Before adding it I measured the lenght I wanted it to be.

Następnie dodałam rączkę. Wcześniej odmierzyłam długość rączki.

I covered the outside of the basket where handle is with a strip of card stock (1'' by 3/4'').

Miejsce gdzie widać łączenie rączki zakryłam kawałkiem kartonu wielkości 1'na 3/4 incza.

Filigree Christmas Basket

Dzisiaj chciałabym pokazać koszyczek, który zrobiłam ze ślicznego borderu z zestawu Spellbinders S4-963 - Snowflake Toppers.

To create a handle for my basket I used NOEL border from Spellbinders S4-947 - Christmas Words. I decorated the handle with poinsettia from Spellbinders S4-960 - Cinch and Go Poinsettia. On both sides I added the smallest snowflakes from Spellbinders S5-379 - Yuletide Snowflakes.

Rączkę zrobiłam z wykrojnika NOEL z zestawu Spellbinders S4-947 - Christmas Words. Na rączkę dodałam poisencję z zestawu Spellbinders S4-960 - Cinch and Go Poinsettia. Po obu bokach dodałam najmniejsze śnieżynki z zestawu Spellbinders S5-379 - Yuletide Snowflakes.

I created the bottom of my basket on 3-1/2'' circle.

Dół koszyczka zrobiłam na kółku o średnicy około 3-1/2 incza.

Easter Basket using Grand Dome 3D Card

Today I am sharing a basket I made using a die from a new collection called 3D Vignettes designed by Becca Feeken. The die I used is called Spellbinders S6-136 - Grand Dome 3D Card.

Dzisiaj chciałabym pokazaċ koszyczek, który zrobiłam z wykrojnika z nowej kolekcji 3D Vignettes zaprojektowanej przez Becca Feeken. Wykrojnik, który użyłam nazywa się Spellbinders S6-136 - Grand Dome 3D Card.

I decorated my basket with Rondelle frame which is Spellbinders S5-342 - Tiara Rondelle.I also added a double bow from Spellbinders S3-314 - Petite Double Bow and Flowers.

Koszyczek udekorowałam ramką z zestawu Spellbinders S5-342 - Tiara Rondelle. Dodałam również kokardę, którą składa się na ćwieku stąd jest taka wypukła po środku. Kokarda jest z zestawu Spellbinders S3-314 - Petite Double Bow and Flowers.

To create a basket:

1. I die cut and embossed two elements using Grand Dome Outline together with Grand Dome Inlay.
2. To create a basket handle I placed Inside Circle (a circle from this die set) and used embossed circle as a guide to line it up in a centre. I wanted to die cut just a half circle so I marked a half (which is more or less where the dotted/pierced half circle is finishing). Then placed a top cutting plate just over the half circle which I wanted to cut and run trough a machine. Please have a look at Becca Feeken's tutorial ----> HERE. Becca is creating a gift bag with a handle just like mine :)
3. After die cutting the half circle I embossed the top part again (just the very top which got flatten after die cutting a half circle). Then I scored a circle in a half and folded a half of a circle inside the basket. 
4. I trimmed off all hinges from both sides.
5. For the sides of a basket I die cut two elements with Side Panel (without Side Panel Insert). Then I trimmed both a bit so they were as high as a half circle I created for a handle (it is approx. 3-3/4'').
6. For a bottom of a basket I used Side Panel from Grand Arch 3D Card. It is a perfect size as I just scored on both short sides at 1/4 inches and it fitted perfectly. For this part a panel can be created using just a card sock measuring 5'' by 1-3/4'' and scored at 1/4'' at all four sides.
7. Then I just decorated a basked with a part of Tiara Rondelle frame. I adhered it on 3D foam. I also added a double bow and store bought roses. I connected both handles using a small piece of 3D foam.

Jak przygotować koszyczek:

1. Wyciełam i zaembossowałam dwa elementy używąjac razem Grand Dome Outline oraz Grad Dome Inlay (ozdobny ażur).
2. Rączkę w koszyczku zrobiłam używając Inside Circle (wykrojnik okrąg z tego zestawu) i użyłam zaembossowanego kola jako miary aby przylożyć wykrojnik koło dokladnie na środku. Aby zrobić rączkę należy wyciąć tylko połowe koła. Połowa jest mniej wiecej tam gdzie kończą się wycięte kropeczki. Położyłam górną płytkę tylko na tej połowie, która chciałam wyciąc. Raczkę zrobiłam tak jak pokazuje to Becca w tym tutorialu ---> TUTAJ.
3. Po wycięciu połowy zaembossowałam całość jeszcze raz ale tylko górną część tam gdzie się spłaszczyło po ponownym cięciu. Potem zbigowałam koło w połowie i zagiełam połowe do wnętrza koszyczka.
4. Odciełam wszystkie hinges z obu stron.
5. Do przygotowalnia ścianek koszyczka użyłam Side Panels (bez Side Panels Inserts). Skróciłam je troszkę tak aby były wysokie tylko do połowy koła (rączki), które wyciełam wcześniej (ok. 3-3/4'').
6. Do przygotowania dolnej części użyłam Side Panel z Grand Arch 3D Card. Pasuje on idealnie. Zbigowałam go tylko na krótszych bokach 1/4''. Ten element można przygotować bez tego wykrojnika. Potrzeby jest karton wielkości 5'' na 1-3/4''. Należy go zbigować na każdej stronie na 1/4''.
7. Koszyczek udekorowałam częścią ramki Tiara Rondelle, którą przykleiłam na piance 3D. Dodałam również podwójną kokardę. Rączki koszyczka złączyłam u góry na małej kostce pianki 3D.

Today I would like to share thank you cards for teachers and little baskets for sweets.

Na kartkach dodałam ramkę Beautiful Dreamer Stamp and Die set SDS-055 z kolekcji Vintage Elegance.

On my cards I added a frame from Beautiful Dreamer Stamp and Die set SDS-055 from Vintage Elegance collection by Becca Feeken.

Do kompletu zrobiłam koszyczki. Koszyczek zrobiłam wg tego kursu - klik, używając wykrojnik kieszonka Filigree Pocket die S4-730, a rączkę zrobiłam z ozdobnego borderu z tego zestawu Graceful Sweet Words Card Creator S4-704.

I also made a little baskets using Filigree Pocket die S4-730 and for the handle I used a die from Graceful Sweet Words Card Creator S4-704.
