Filigree basket Tutorial

Today I would like to show how I made a filigree basket using March Die of the Month. I shoed the card and the basket in this post - click.

I die cut the oval with two decorative inserts and I also die cut twice the label.

I have my scoring board marked with a pencil along the 6''. The pencil like helps me to align the element for scorning. I aligned at 6'' mark the die cut element and then move forward by 1/8'' and scored. I aligned with the inside of the decorative inlaid die cut.

Here you can see a pencil mark. I have done it along the full length of scoring board.

I have done the same on each side. I have now the base scored at equal distance (1/8'') from the inlaid decorative die cut. 

Then I trimmed off with scissors the sides (at four corners) to create flaps.

Here how it looks when flaps are folded up and glued together.

Two labels I used to create a handle for the basket.

Mały kwiat hortensji

Chciałambym podzielić się moim kwiatkiem hortensji. Pojedyńcze hortensje zrobiłam już dawno temu (całe pudełko bo tak się je fajnie robiło :) dzięki kursowi na piękne hortensje, który pokazała na swoim blogu Klaudia. Robiąc swoje nie kolorowałam ich bo wycięłam je z kolorowego papieru czerpanego i również idąc na skróty płatki 'poszczypałam' tylko, tak jak przy tych różyczkach. Już 'poszczypane' płatki ukształtowałam narzędziem kulkowym na macie, tak aby nadać im ładny kształt (delikatnie tak jak przy tych różyczkach).

Zrobiłam bardzo dużo tych kwiatuszków i tak się cały czas zastanawiałam jaki im zrobić środek... (Klaudia cudnie dodaje swoim hortensjom guziczki, koraliki... :) i w końcu udało mi się znaleść sposób na środek z dratwy.

I would like to share my little hydrangea flower. I made my hydrangea using Joy! Craft die. I made them all thanks to Klaudia's tutorial how to make beautiful hydrangeas. I just did not add color to mine as I die cut all from color hand made paper and I just pinched petals as it was easier to me. I pinched petals the same way like for these roses. After pinching petals I rolled each petal with stylus tool on an embossing mat to give petals nice shape (same way like for these roses). I made a lot of these flowers and then was wandering what to add as a center... And finally I made some little hydrangeas with twine center and would like to share some pictures how I put together the flower.

Kwiatki wycięłam wykrojnikiem Joy! Craft z papieru czerpanego. Na jeden kwiatek złożyłam dwa tej samej wielkości i jeden mniejszy.

Jako środek użyłam kawałeczka dratwy.

I have cut flowers from color hand made paper, using Joy! Craft die. I used two flowers same size and one smaller.

As a center of a flower I used a little bit of twine.

Skleiłam kwiatki razem.

I glued all flowers together.

Aby nie zgubić środka pomagałam sobie narzędziem kulkowym (z malutką kulką).

I used stylus tool to keep my center open.

Kawałeczek dratwy.

And just a little bit of twine.

Złożyłam na połowę.

Folded in a half.

Przełożyłam przez dziurkę. Tak wygląda kwiatek z tyłu.

I put through the flower. This is the back of the flower.

Z przodu jest pętelka. Jeśli pętelka jest za duża, trzeba ją wsunąć z powrotem.

And this is the front with a little loop. If the loop is a little bit too big then push it back.

Skleić z tyłu.

Glue at the back.

Wgnieść na macie do embossingu (lub na macie komuterowej do myszki). Kwiat nabierze kształtu.

Press on an embossing mat (or mouse mat). Will get the shape.

Narzędziem kulkowym z dużą kulką, zgniotłam pętelkę na macie do cięcia.

And then I just press the loop with a big stylus tool on a craft mat so it flatten.

Kiedy klej już podsechł, nadałam hortensji kształt palcami.

Tutaj już gotowa hortensja. Zrobiłam też z pojedyńczego kwiatka i również wygląda fajnie z takim środkiem :)

After glue dried I just shaped the flowers with fingers.

Here are ready flowers. I have also made one of the single flower and it looks nice too :)

A tutaj jest zdjęcie hortensji, które zrobiłam (mam ich całe pudełko :) po tym jak Klaudia pokazała jak robi swoje piękne hortensje. Myślę, że teraz z takim środkiem będę ich używała częściej :)

Here are picture with my flowers I had made some time ago when Klaudia shared her tutorial. Now I will start using them more often with a twine center :)

Świąteczna bombka z shaker box'ami / A Christmas Bauble with the shaker boxes

Przy robieniu bombki dla siostry zrobiłam kilka zdjęć (dużo zdjęć... ;)

I took some pictures, while making a bauble for my sister, to share how I put together my Christmas baubles.

Aby wyciąć moje koła użyłam wykrojnik LifeStyle.

Wydrukowałam dwa świąteczne obrazki od Janet, na kremowym kartonie. Wycięłam również, w rozmiarze pasującym do wilekości obrazków: dwa koła z kartonu 1.5 mm; dwa/trzy koła z kartonu pocztowego; sześć pierścieni z kartonu oraz dwa koła z acetate (przeźroczysty plastik). Zazwyczaj shaker box robi się przy pomocy taśmy 3D. Ja zrobiłam malutki, sklejając tylko karton ze sobą tak aby drobny brokat nie wysypał się bokami i aby bombka miała gładki brzeg poterzebny do naklejenia taśmy.

To cut the shapes I used two size circles from LifeStyle die set.

I printed, on cream card stock, two Christmas pictures from Janet at Digital Paper.

I cut (matching size to the pictures): two same size circles from 1.5mm cardboard; two/three same size circles from paperboard; six rings from card stock; two same size acetate rings. I decided not to use 3D tape to mount shaker box as I wanted smooth edge of the bauble so I can glue the ribbon around.

Jako pierwsze zrobiłam dwa shaker box'y (ten z kościołem już wcześniej sobie przygotowałam).

Rozciełam obrazek (wycięłam dekoracyjny pierścień), do shaker box'u potrzeba była baza - 1.5mm karton, trzy pierścienie z kartonu oraz koło z acetate. Pocieniowałam wszystkie elementy tuszem Distress Vinatge Photo.

First I made shaker boxes (one with the church is ready).

I cut out the decorative ring from the printed picture. Then I needed three card stock rings, one shaker box base - 1.5mm cardboard. And one acetate ring. I inked all edges with Distress Vintage Photo ink.

Jako pierwszy przykleiłam pierścień do 1.5mm bazy.

First I glued the ring on the 1.5mm cardboard base.

Następnie w środek wkleiłam wycięte koło z obrazka.

Then I glued in the picture.

Potem nakleiłam dwa pozostałe pierścienie, kolejno jeden na drugi.

And then two more rings one on the top of each other.

Tutaj widać gotową bazę shaker box'u, acetate oraz dekoracyjny pierścień gotowe do następnego kroku.

Here is ready base for shaker box, acetate and decorative ring ready for the next steps.

Następnie nakleiłam kawałeczki taśmy dwustronnie klejącej na brzegi pierścienia.

I added double sided tape at the edge of the ring.

Obcięłam wystające kawałeczki.

Cut out the excess of the tape.

Oraz dodałam extra kropeczki kleju tak aby brokat nie wysypywał się bokami.

I teraz dodałam na środek złoty, drobniutki brokat.

And added extra drops of glue between the tape so the fine glitter will have no way to get out.

Then I added, in a middle, some gold fine glitter.

Zakryłam delikatnie acetate.

And covered it gently with acetate.

I dodałam dekoracyjny pierścień. Tak jak poprzednio na taśmę dwustronnie klejącą i kropeczki kleju.

To add the decorative ring on the top of shaker box just add some double sided tape and glue same way like before.

Shaker box jest już gotowy. Do zrobienia bombki potrzebne są takie dwa.

The shaker box is finish. Need two of these to make a bauble.

Do zrobienia bombki potrzebne są; dwa shaker box'y; dwa/trzy koła tekturowe; wstążka, papier ścierny do wygładzenia brzegów.

To make a bauble: two ready shaker boxes; two/three rings from paperboard; ribbon; some sand paper to polish edges of the bauble

Przed sklejeniem elementów, złożyłam je w całość i dopasowałam do wstążki.

Before gluing all together I put all rings together to see or the thickness of the bauble matching the ribbon width.

Tym razem okazało się, że potrzebuje extra koła z kartonu pocztowego bo wstążka jest szersza.

My ribbon was to width so I added one more papercard ring.

Teraz skleiłam wszystkie elementy.

Now just glue all rings together.

Przed sklejeniem ostatniego elementu (shaker box'u) sprawdziłam czy obrazki po obu stronach są w odpowiedniej pozycji.

And before gluing the shaker box, check or both shaker boxes pictures are in right position.

Tak wygląda bok bombki po sklejeniu.

This is how the bauble looks on the side when is glued together.

Na chwilkę zostawiłam bombkę pod książką.

I just left it under the book for a while so it dried flat.

Bombkę ozdobiłam poisencjami, trzema szyszkami, listkami, czerwonymi pręcikami, metalowymi zawieszkami. Całość przyklejałąm na ciepły klej.

To decorate the bauble I used: ribbon, two poisenttias, three pine cones, some leaves, some red steams, metal embelishements, hot glue.

Odmierzyłam ilość wstążki potrzebnej do oklejenia bombki i na pętelkę.

Measure the length of the ribbon around the bauble and for a loop.

Zauważyłam, że przez wstążkę widać ciemny karton pocztowy więc zanim nakleiłam wstążkę, pomalowałam brzeg białą farbką.

I noticed that the ribbon was a little bit transparent so I decided to paint in white around the edge before gluing the ribbon around.

Teraz już ostrożnie przyklejałam wstążkę dookoła na ciepły klej. Zrobiłam te bombki dzięki Arlene, która pokazała śliczne 'Nutcracker Sweet Ornaments' tutorial.

And now just glue the ribbon cearfully around with hot glue. I have made this bauble thanks to Arlene 'Nutcracker Sweet Ornaments' tutorial.

Na szczycie bombki zatrzymałam się na chwilę.

Leave some room at the top for the loop.

I tutaj zrobiłam pętelkę.

And make a loop.

Zanim dodałam na bombkę szyszki, najpierw nakleiłam je na listek (Spellbinders Shadow Flowers).

Before gluing the pine cones to the bauble I added a leave (Spellbinders Shadow Flowers die).

Pierwszą rzeczą jaką dodałam to zawieszka.

The first thing I added to the bauble was the metal embelishements.

Kolejna była poisencja.

Then hand made poistenttia.

I zaraz obok szyszke na liściu.

Then on a side pine cone on a leaf.

I tak samo po przeciwnej stronie.

And the same on the other side.

Dodałam również kokardę z nici lnianej.

I added a bow made of linen tread.

Dodałam ją zaraz za poisencją.

I added a bow just behind the poisenttia.

Przy pętelce było jeszcze trochę miejsca więc dodałam  listki.

There are some room near the loop so I added some leave (Spellbinder Shadow Flowers) and some leave from poisenttia (Tattered Poisenttia die).

I na środek szyszkę.

And in a middle of these leaves the last pine cone.

Pod poisencje po obu stronach dodałam czerwone pręciki.

And then under poisenttias on both sides I added some red stems.

Gotowe obie bombki.
